The initiative brings together experienced professionals across recruitment, development, and career management to support aspiring players at every stage of their journey. By prioritizing integrity, opportunity, and long-term growth, Real Sports Group aims to bridge the gap between talent and professional opportunity—both on and off the pitch.
Academia Real Internacional was founded with the goal of creating a professional, player-focused environment where young athletes could receive world-class training, guidance, and opportunities to advance in the game. Built on the belief that talent must be matched with structure, discipline, and the right support system, the academy was established to bridge the gap between grassroots development and professional football.
Steffan Witmer’s journey is a clear reflection of what can be achieved through hard work and the right environment. Our journey began with the first group of players who joined us at our original centre in Molvízar. This pioneering group laid the foundation for everything that followed—bringing energy, ambition, and a shared belief in the vision we set out to build. Their commitment and trust in the program marked the beginning of a high-performance environment that continues to grow. Molvízar remains a significant part of our story, representing where our standards, culture, and identity as an academy were first established.
A major milestone in our development came with our first-ever showcase match against the U23 side of Málaga CF, a respected La Liga club with a strong history of player development. This fixture not only provided our players with the opportunity to test themselves against top-level opposition, but also marked our arrival on the competitive stage. It set the tone for future showcases and demonstrated the quality and ambition of our academy from the very start.
Alessandro Briggs’ signing with Vélez CF in October 2023 marked another professional signing. His breakthrough move into Spain’s Segunda RFEF, the country’s competitive fourth division, was vital for his career. Vélez CF provided the perfect platform for Alessandro to gain valuable experience. This signing is another important step forward for Alessandro and the academy, reinforcing our dedication to creating meaningful pathways and real opportunities.
The 2023/24 season marked a breakthrough year filled with progress, opportunity, and tangible results. From start to finish, players were being called up for trials across Europe—showcasing their talent in front of top-level clubs and proving the strength of our program. Trials came left, right, and centre, with doors opening at every level of the game. Most notably, two of our players secured professional contracts, a testament to both their dedication and the structure we’ve put in place to support serious football development. The season set a new benchmark for what’s possible and reinforced our position as a genuine pathway to the professional game.
Our first international tour was a landmark moment, as we hosted the inaugural Copa Tailandesa—competing against academy and professional sides from Thailand’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd divisions. The tournament provided our players with high-level, diverse opposition and valuable international exposure. It was a proud step forward, highlighting our commitment to global competition and creating meaningful experiences on and off the pitch.
Real Sports Group and Real Internacional acquired via setting up the semi-professional side CF Benamocarra, effective for the 2025/26 season. This strategic move strengthened and put on display our commitment to expanding our footprint in Spanish football, creating new opportunities for player development and community engagement.
The 2024/25 proved to be a challenging season, however throughout the course of the season we managed to reach a total of 10 professional clubs in which we officially partnered with, multiple Youth Level and Semi-Professional Signings, and even a Professional Club Signing.
Professionalism is not confined to matchday performances or time spent in training—it’s a mindset, a daily commitment, and a way of life. How a player carries themselves off the field is just as crucial as their actions on it. It’s about building strong habits and maintaining high standards—developing not just as an athlete, but as a complete individual prepared for the demands of the modern game.
Creating a welcoming and friendly environment is at the heart of everything we do. It’s essential that players feel relaxed, supported, and free to express themselves—both as individuals and as athletes. When players feel comfortable and valued, they’re able to focus fully on their development and, most importantly, enjoy the game they love.
In today’s game, it has become increasingly clear that developing a winning mentality is essential for progress at every level. Talent alone is no longer enough—players must cultivate a mindset rooted in resilience, ambition, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.Equally important is the presence of a strong, healthy, and inspiring culture.
Individual excellence is a cornerstone of any truly elite football environment. It’s not defined by a single trait, but by the combination of many vital elements all working together to shape a complete and well-rounded player.
Each of these components plays a crucial role in the development process, contributing to a culture where high standards are not only encouraged but expected.
